Mr.Shrikant Bhat
Vice President -Projects & Planning

Mr. Shrikant Bhat is our Vice President - Projects and Planning. He joined our company in March, 2007. In co-ordination with Vice President-Corporate Affairs, Secretarial & Legal and Company Secretary, he is responsible for sale and purchase of vessels and offshore assets with respect to their technical evaluation, internal co-ordination relating thereto and interaction with Classification Societies and registration and de-registration of the vessels. He also heads Business Process Re-engineering exercise of the company. In addition to the above, Mr. Bhat also handles various other projects which are assigned to him from time to time.

Mr.Bhat completed his Marine Engineering Training course conducted by Directorate of Marine Engineering and Training (DMET), Kolkata and passed the final passing out examination in 1972. Mr. Bhat started his career as Marine Engineer with Scindia Steam Navigation Company Limited, Mumbai. He obtained his MOT First Class Certificate of Competency in 1978 and sailed as Chief Engineer for six years with reputed foreign shipping companies. He thereafter joined the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) at Kolkata in 1984 as Engineer Surveyor and in 1988 was in charge of its Pune office.  During his tenure at IRS, he also did classification and specification supervision of new building vessels. In 1993, he joined Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited as Technical Manager and subsequently took charge of their Quality and Safety department. He was the head of fleet management function in Great Eastern from 2001 to February, 2007 and was responsible for building up specifications, design and plan approvals and selection of equipment for new building vessels.
