Mr. Yudhishthir D Khatau is our Vice Chairman & Managing Director and is also a non-executive director of VSC International Pte Ltd. Mr. Yudhishthir D Khatau joined our Board in 1994, was appointed as our Executive Director in 1995 and was thereafter appointed as our Managing Director in 1999. Subsequently, he was elevated to the position of Vice Chairman & Managing Director in December, 2008. In his capacity as our Vice Chairman & Managing Director, he is responsible for the overall management of our Company subject to the supervision and control of our Board and focuses on our growth and expansion projects both in India and abroad.

Mr. Yudhishthir D. Khatau is the President of the Baltic & International Maritime Council (BIMCO). He is the first President of BIMCO from India and the  youngest ever in BIMCO’s 106 years history. He is a Director of Indian National Shipowners’ Association (INSA), Realpoint (Mauritius) Limited, Varun Cyprus Limited and Varun Gas Infrastructure Limited and West of England Ship Owners Mutual Insurance Association. He was the past President of INSA from 2005 to 2007. He was also a past member of the National Shipping Board and a past trustee on the Board of Trustees of Mumbai Port Trust and New Mangalore Port Trust. He is also a member of American Bureau of Shipping-India National Committee. Mr. Yudhishthir D Khatau was a member of the Tonnage Tax Committee constituted by the Indian government to develop the Indian tonnage tax scheme that was introduced in India in 2004. Mr. Yudhishthir D Khatau obtained his Bachelor of Science and Economics in 1991 from Wharton Business School of the University of Pennsylvania, U.S.A.

In November 2006, he was awarded the 'Personality of the Year’ award at the Lloyds List Middle East/Indian Subcontinent Awards 2006 ceremony, held at Dubai. Further, In October 2007 he was presented with 'Policy Maker of the Year' award at the awards presentation ceremony of the Seatrade India Shipping Summit-2007, held in Mumbai. Further, in September, 2008 he received 'Entrepreneur of the Year' award at the India Shipping Summit-2008 awards ceremony, held at Mumbai. In May, 2009 he received “ Seatrade Young Person in Shipping- 2009” award at the 21st Seatrade Awards ceremony, held at London. In March 2010, he received “Young Entrepreneur of the Year” award at the Shipping, Marine & Ports 2010 Leadership & Excellence Awards ceremony and in September 2010, he received “Young Entrepreneur of the Year” award at the All India Maritime and Logistics Awards 2010 ceremony, held at Mumbai.
